Tooth Crowns

Bellevue and Seattle, Washington

Tooth crowns are an ideal solution for covering dental implants or helping to hold dental bridges into place. A strong and natural looking solution for restoring aesthetic beauty to your smile, the cosmetic dentists at Cooleysmiles may also suggest tooth crowns for patients who suffer from smiles marred by teeth that are:

  • Broken
  • Misshapen
  • Discolored
  • Worn down
  • Weakened by decay or previous fillings

Porcelain tooth crowns offer the dual benefit of providing superior beauty and restoring lost functionality, making them an ideal choice for many of our patients.

Your Tooth Crown Procedure

Your tooth crown procedure takes two office visits to complete. In order for us to provide you with a tooth crown that is both strong and seamlessly matched to your adjacent teeth, we will need to first prepare your tooth to receive the crown.

During your first visit, Seattle cosmetic dentists Dr. Aaron Cooley and Dr. Brandon Cooley will reshape your tooth and remove any decay in order to allow your dental crown to be placed. After your tooth has been reshaped, we will take an impression of your tooth to send to our dental lab where your crown will be custom crafted.

At Cooleysmiles, our tooth crowns are created at Northwest Lab, a local company known for producing only the highest quality dental restorations. We offer our patients two types of crowns:

  • Procera® crowns, made from zirconia or alumina
  • E-Max crowns, made from a lithium disilicate, unique in the dental industry

Both of these crowns offer stunning aesthetic results, but vary in function. We will work closely with you to determine which type of tooth crown is most ideally suited to meet your needs based on the location of your tooth crown and the issues being treated.

Once your new tooth crown has been created and matched specifically to the size, shape, and color of your natural teeth, you will come back into the office to have your crown placed.

Tooth crowns are placed over your tooth, encasing your natural tooth in a protective layer of porcelain. Porcelain is stain-resistant, reflects light in the same way as your natural teeth, and provides renewed strength and durability while protecting your tooth from further decay and damage.
